Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) is a widely used technology and ideal for large scale printing, basic proof of concept models and simple prototyping. Our FDM 3D printing service has one of the widest selection of materials on the market.
We use Intamsys 3D printers for our FDM (Fused Deposition Modelling) production. These top of the range industrial 3D printers are designed for controlled, consistent production of end-use parts. Using wire-fed stock material, these machines use the latest in environment control to ensure maximum dimensional stability (± 0.15%) and accuracy (lower limit ± 0.2 mm). Capable of reaching temperatures of up to 500°C these machines can print any material including; PEEK, PEI / ULTEM & Carbon Fibre.
Combined with our knowledge and advanced finishing techniques, we use the Funmat series to produce the best quality parts on the market. See our material properties below or download a data sheet.
Below is a list of our standard materials offered at our Fused Deposition Modelling / FDM 3D printing service. To instantly compare material prices, upload your parts to our online platform
Lowest cost additive manufacturing process, ideal for production runs or one-off parts
Wide selection of materials suitable for any application including woods and metals co-polymers
FDM requires limited post-processing, most parts are ready to use straight from the machine
Some FDM materials are UV stable and are suitable for most outdoor applications long-term
Fused Deposition Modelling (FDM) builds upon pre-determined geometry through wire fed plastic feed stock.
260 x 260 x 260 mm or 10 x 10 x 10 “
FDM is well-suited for basic proof-of-concept models and simple prototyping.
Parts with overhangs greater than 45 degrees will require support material. Our technicians will assess your parts and add this in automatically when programming your order.
We have a choice of Black, Grey and White colours for most materials, with some colour options available upon request. We also offer media blasting and professional spray painting services.
All of our FDM materials can be hand finished apart from TPU.
Our PLA, PETG and PolyCarbonate materials are rated for food-contact.
You can specify when placing our order your desired orientation using our order messaging system, otherwise our technical team will automatically orientate your part for you.
